The first day of school, a two-time Olympic gold medalist Katie Weatherston came to SSHS to give a presentation about how students can achieve anything they truly want as long as they have a solid plan to succeed. Katie possesses a B.A. in Psychology, and is also a certified elementary school teacher. She also took part in the Turin Winter Olympics in 2006. She is currently a real estate agent in Ottawa, Ontario, and is the owner of Katie Weatherston Hockey School for girls.
