Good morning/afternoon, SSHS families.
First of all, we want to thank you for your patience and support as we address these latest cases in our community. Public Health is working morning until night to identify contacts, coordinate testing and assess results – that means we sometimes do not receive updates until later in the evening. We are grateful for the work they are doing.
This message is to inform you that most students will be returning to in-person learning at school tomorrow, Friday, September 17th.
Who can attend school tomorrow?
- Students without any symptoms (vaccinated or not) who have not been identified by Public Health as being a close contact of a confirmed case
- Students without any symptoms, who are fully vaccinated and who have been identified by Public Health as being a close contact.
Who should not be attending?
- Students experiencing any symptoms
- Students without symptoms who are not fully vaccinated and who have been identified by Public Health as being a close contact.
How do I know if my child has been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case?
- Parents and guardians of a close contact will receive a message from Public Health, from the school’s School Messenger system.
- Students identified as being a close contact will receive that same Public Health message on their specific class Teams page.
We understand this may be a difficult time for you and your child as we work together to ensure everyone’s health and safety is protected from COVID-19. We will continue to keep you updated with information as we receive it.
Thank you,
J. Ryan
