This past week, four of Sugarloaf's finest entrepreneurs were
selected to attend and compete in the New Brunswick Youth Entrepreneurship
Challenge 2014 hosted by Enterprise Moncton at Université de Moncton. A total of 5 teams from across New Brunswick were
chosen to attend the competition in the "Innovative Idea" category,
two of which were from Sugarloaf. The first idea was from a solo team, Nikki Arsenault’s
"Butter Balm" a product that solves the problem of everyday butter
use by packaging butter in a glue stick-like container and the second team
Sugarloaf Senior High School hosted guests from the RCMP during Police Week on May 14th and 15th. Police Week began in Canada in 1970 as a way to connect with communities and increase awareness about the services that police provide. Sugarloaf was extremely lucky to be selected as one of only a few New Brunswick schools afforeded with the oppertunity to host to the RCMP Helicopter on May 14th. This helicopter serves the 4 Atlantic Provinces and the students and staff were applauding as the pilots had a meet and greet with the students and staff.
Zachary Parker from Sugarloaf Senior High School was the 2014 recipient of the Raymond Légère Sportsmanship Award. The New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association introduced the Annual Sportsmanship of the Year Awards in 2006.

Brittany Hanley, a Grade 12 student this year, was nominated by the staff at SSHS as the Turn Around Achievement Award Winner for 2014. She was presented her certificate by her teacher Mrs. Chandler at the awards ceremony on May 6th at the Campbellton Civic Center. SSHS is so proud of Brittany, Congrats!
