Self Isolation Guidelines for
Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 Flu Virus
Based on
national discussions and agreement, the guidance for “self isolation” for
those with Influenza-like Illness (ILI)* has been changed. Previously, the
advice was “to self isolate for seven days”; however, current guidance
recommends that individuals with ILI should:
Limit contact with others until free of symptoms and feeling well;
As per previous advice, it is still recommended that people with ILI should
decrease their contact with household members as well as others in the
public; and, Individuals should consider ending self isolation when they
are able to participate fully in normal daily activities. Parents of young
children should consider ending their child(ren)’s self isolation when the
child(ren) is/are able to participate fully in normal daily activities.
ILI is defined as the acute onset of respiratory symptoms with fever and
cough, and one or more of the following: sore throat, body aches, and
fatigue. Vomiting and diarrhea may also be present and fever may not be
prominent.

Study Period & Quarterly Reports
|
|
The Administration and
Staff at SSHS have two key initiatives that will focus on student learning
and increase student achievement.
Initiative
#1:Directed Learning Study Period:
- SSHS
has introduced a 6th period to the schedule which will be focused on
student learning and student achievement.
- students will be able to get a head start on their homework under the
supervision of a teacher.
- students will be given extra-help in the Area’s of Science, Math, English
or other subjects where teachers of those subjects deem it necessary to
provide this extra-help and offer assistance to students.
- an “extra” 35 minutes a day, which is part of the school day, for
teachers to have time to touch base on a regular basis with their
colleagues through collaboration.
- a focused intervention to help struggling students.
- building teacher capacity to work as members of high performing
collaborative teams with a focus on improved learning for all
students.
Initiative
#2:Quarterly Reporting Periods:
- SSHS
will now have 4 reporting periods per semester. They are on the following
date:
